Not yet confirmed by No 10, but if this is true then that's a massive shock.

It's high time that Tories, like me, admitted that this is the biggest political *up in generations. No more excuses, no more having a go at Labour.

I would like to know who did the pulling.
Bryant has a picture that he took on his phone and will show it to those responsible for addressing such matters in the HoC in due course.
Senior Conservative MP Charles Walker tells the BBC that after this evening's events in the voting lobby, he's livid and has run out of patience with his party and his colleagues.

Visibly shaken, Walker says it is "inexcusable" and there is "no coming back" from this for the government.

"I think it's a shambles and a disgrace," Walker says, adding that the current government has damaged his party's reputation.

Why not try a bit of research yourself?
remember that manhandling may include womanhandling; the sex relates to the handler rather than the handlee.

Pincher, Burns, it’s difficult to know whose turn it was next?
/Labour shadow minister Anna McMorrin wrote on Twitter that she witnessed one Conservative MP "in tears" in the lobby after the vote.
Ms McMorrin tweeted: "Extraordinary stuff happening here during the vote on fracking which is apparently 'not a confidence vote'.
"I've just witnessed one Tory member in tears being manhandled into the lobby to vote against our motion to continue the ban on fracking."
Labour MP Shadow Secretary of State for Scotland, Ian Murray, said he witnessed "whips screaming at Tories" and described it as "open warfare"./

Anyone know why Liz Truss didn’t vote and the (now former) Chief Whip abstained?
Braverman? - caught out doing a Hillary or Trump
(leaving papers out and about)

are we really discussing if whips manhandle? - the clue is in the name, yeah?
Shadow Secretary of State for Scotland, Ian Murray, said he witnessed "whips screaming at Tories"

errr do we believe what er MPs say? have we learnt no lessons post Boris?
the whips still have their jobs, it seems
Yes, speculation abounds.
One journalist interviewed on BBC says Truss supposedly took her Chief Whip by the arm and begged her not to resign.
jnothe whips still have their jobs, it seems

Aw thats bad news. The chief whip is MP for the constituency where I live. The only thing she is any good for is turning up at garden fetes and such like, but only if there are photo opportunities.
Seems they have unresigned. The Hokey Cokey comes to mind. :-(
In light of all the allegations and confusion over whether it was a ‘confidence vote’ or not by the government it appears clear that the vote should be taken again and properly scrutinised, if not actually televised.
true, gness, you put your left vote in you put your left vote out
Lol @ Tonyav!
Best I’ve seen tonight is the Krishnan Guru-Murthy tweet where he apologised to Steve Baker for calling him something off air.

The reply after Baker’s acceptance contains the most unprintable word imaginable! Lol
