How nice would it be if others like him, musicians and politicians alike , would dig deep in their conscious and follow what he’s doing ?
A little bit of ‘nice’ news for a change

There might be other Prominent folk doing likewise / similar . Him going public may at least make others think about doing likewise ( if it wasn't on their minds ) and that can only be a good thing

And we’ll done to them also Clarion, mores the pity our own politicians don’t follow suit or others in the same vocation as Sir Rod , people that can afford to do so
But well done to Rod Stewart. Should have said that earlier.
Question Author
* well*
Bobbi, the majority of politicians aren't in a position to do it. Rod Stewart is in a different financial league entirely.
Well done Sir Rod and anyone who are in a position to be so altruistic
Question Author
Yes, that I concede Naomi , you’re right but there’s a lot of very rich people here even if they don’t actually live here like R S who could help these poor war weary people
We don't know what others might be doing though, do we. Many who help very often don't broadcast it.
I like Rod, always have done and been to a few of his gigs over the years.
What he has done for that Ukranian family is great - it's a good thing. But it must be far easier for a very wealthy man to pay the rent of a house for a family for a year than for an 'average Joe' to welcome strangers into their own homes as many people have done.
Question Author
Yes,that’s what I agreed with Barry about earlier, just hearing some milk of human kindness is nice in these turbulent times
A lot of prominent, wealthy people keep their charitable acts under the radar because they don't want to be swamped by begging letters and the like.
Hasn't the carphone warehouse guy also given over one of his mansions to a family?
The family were first sponsored by someone else who kicked them out after 3 months. The family had difficulties finding anyone to rent to them.2 of the children are disabled or with learning disabilities. Also I think one of the grand parents are not well
I love Sir Rodalways have done. He seems to be a grounded unassuming man who enjoys a normal life and has no airs and graces. It's good news and because he's famous it will get in the press. I am sure a lot of others will be doing something similar, if not for Ukraians, for other charities.

Anyway, well done Rod! :0)
I like him too, lottie, and I do think he has his feet on the ground. I love it that his wife works with the police.
He is a great family man Sir Rod.
In relation to him being able to afford it I don’t think there’s any less virtue in that. It would be reckless to do it if you couldn’t afford to.
Topical point :-)

Well done Sir Rod & I agree, not all such acts of kindness will make the news.
The family had difficulties finding anyone to rent to them.2 of the children are disabled or with learning disabilities.
_________

Could be the reason he's exempt.
I find odd people throwing the dummy out over a perfectly valid question.

I hear she worked on a Sting operation.

Male heads of families of over I think it is two children may accompany their families abroad.
Your whole approach to this nice news story has been snide and suspicious from the start.
Not as if Ukraine needs any malingerers anyway. Conscription in Ukraine this autumn was cancelled. Probably not that surprising actually but ironic in view of
700,000 Russians fleeing Putin’s war of choice. And hit squads jumping young Russian men in the street
