Why isn’t this BIG news? What’s the matter? Doesn’t it fit your stereotypes?

"You tell them Allen! Not that they will understand. What a superb point. Over their heads it goes."
Really ? So the Jews had been getting exterminated by the Germans for generations and then suddenly decided statues needing toppling ? A point needs to be relevant to be worthwhile. A superb one needs to be much much more. What we have now is exaggerated claims for here driven by an incident in a foreign country that's known to always have had issues. By the way, German Jews were/are German.

Allen, hopefully you'll listen to what you described as a voice of reason. You're not helping yourself by looking to pick fights or mock those you may disagree with. Try and keep things civil, eh?
As for the image of the black fella helping the whote fella out: what it does for me is it shpws anyone who interprets "black lives matter" to translate as "whote loves don't matter". What a majority want is equality, not superiority. They want to be treated the same as white people. That's not much to ask is it?

Over here they pretty much are treated the same. That's part of why it's offensive to go making claims to the contrary, pretending others are treated better and therefore not worth arguing for on an equal basis. We don't have thought police, thank goodness, so you will kind all sorts of people and all sorts of views in society, including racism, but genuine unfair discrimination based on skin colour has been dropping for decades, but apparently is still useful when someone wants to play the race card and shout, "poor me, this is the reason for all my woes".
bertrum; "ToraTora Tora It doesn’t matter to me my thoughts would be the same if a white man rescued a black man but it obviously concerns you a great deal " - how do you work that out? I am not the one drawing attention to skin colour, I have mentioned at least 4 times on this thread that skin colour is not relevant to me. I saw one man ehlping another, it's you and others turning this into a race issue.
The last thing I am is right wing. One need not to support one branch of politics to know when some are doing wrong and should be ashamed of their actions; nor know when some have done something right and needs praise. It's good to know that not everyone goes along with the mob mentality when they're with the mob. I think that many, probably most, do though.
Old_Geezer - "It was integral to the point if it was going to be used as a comparison."
You didn't understand the comparison. The comparison was regarding all lives matter, not statues.
ToraToraTora - "Guilty as charged, skin colour does not affect my views of someone, are we not all supposed to be? isn't that the point?"
No. I think it's stupid to ignore peoples skin colour. If I see someone who is black then I can respect that they have probably struggled with oppression throughout their life from a unjust system.
You are happy to ignore that?
I think it's honourable to acknowledge and respect that they may have struggled and been subject to treatment you couldn't possible comprehend.

Maybe some education is needed, ToraToraTora?
I mean that is what BlackLivesMatter is all about. Educating yourself. So do it.
