“Jeremy Corbyn has defiantly restated Labour’s policy of leading Britain out of the European Union…” Where’s the headline then? Mr Corbyn’s Party supported the granting of a referendum, most of his MP’s voted to trigger A50 and his party secured their seats at the last General Election on a manifesto that committed the Party to take the UK...

I think -Talbot- was talking to me, not you.

Therefore you’re snapping at someone who agrees with you.

FUNNY.
By slagging others for having a differing opinion are you not being anti democracy?

On 27 June 2014, the European Council officially nominated Juncker for the position, and on 15 July 2014, the European Parliament elected him with a majority of 422 votes from a total of 729 cast. He succeeded José Manuel Barroso as President on 1 November 2014.
//The people who make the EU's laws in Brussels are not unelected bureaucrats; they are elected politicians, accountable to the people who elected them//

Inorrect: the body which decides EU policy and proposes all legislation (in secret conclave) is the unelected Commission whose members forswears national loyalty in favour of "commitment" to the EU . I doubt that anybody on this thread knows who the UK's last two commissioners were.

The parliament has power to reject legislation or suggest amendment.
// Did you ever study logic?//

yeah I did actually

those who voted to remain all voted for one thing
and those for Brexit as we have seen voted for god knows what - they don't!

yeah logical that
Wich remainer is banging the drum the loudest re a people's vote?

“I believe the EU has become a huge, overly costly, bureaucratic organisation fundamentally lacking in both democracy and accountability to the many millions of people who pay for it through their taxes and who are bound to live by its rules”.

Same woman
thread knows who the UK's last two commissioners were.

Could you please let me know who Barmpot is. I will look him or her up for you. However, it will need their real name.

I have to assume Barmpot is you being hilarious again - like when you call Nicola Sturgeon ‘Jimmy Krankie’ to make the long winter evenings fly by...

How can we leave? There are so many leave options that a whole load if you are going to be intensely unhappy with wherever route is chosen.
//there should’ve been a clause that we could only leave or stay when 60% of the country voted one way or another. //

the question on the referendum bill (and the bill itself) did not include such a clause, but was nevertheless passed by parliament with a majority of 6 to 1. further, the bill to enact A50 was passed with a parliamentary majority of 5 to 1. in terms of what would have been a good idea to include in the referendum, what does that say about the current crop of MPs. do you really believe they'd do any better if they were given a 2nd crack at it? really?
-Talbot-, TTT, v_e out of interest, what (specifically) do you want from the Government. Not abstracts - actual steps).

And what she the Government do about the backstop?

SP: "TTT I think -Talbot- was talking to me, not you." - if so apologies to Talbot. It just sounded like a typical riddle me type response that you get from the VB.
Talbot: Yeah Spanner Booby doesn't appear to have a scooby.

Just as well I have never supported the idea of a second referendum.

That’s ‘Vichy Britain’, right?

Just want to ensure everyone is up to speed with the latest abbreviations.

What a great argument for staying, you have got me convinced we should stay...you should consider a career in politics.

I take it there are no remainers who think that the EU needs to reform?
TTT

Yeah Spanner Booby doesn't appear to have a scooby.

Is ‘Spanner Booby’ new?

I’ve not been on AB a lot recently and so I may have missed the origin of this one.

SP 13:29, 1) cancel the DD, 2) Leave the EU regardless of threats, project fear, whining anti British lefties, etc. The same thing I have been saying since June 25th 2016. Why is that so complex and difficult to comprehend?
-Talbot-

It’s not an argument for staying.

Remain lost - full stop.

But how can we leave.

That’s the question today. The ‘whether’ has been decided. Now we need to establish the ‘how’.
TTT

So you would favour a ‘no deal’ Brexit.

The problem you have there is that your solution (forget about the Remainers) goes against what other leavers want. Not all of them, but a significant number.

This is the
