Teenage girl simply asserting her rights to jump about, her entitlement to take a police officer’s taser from him, and what did the brute do? He slapped her!

String ‘em up, I say.

The fact that she was a 'girl' means nothing.

Not a 'girl' but my friend (police officer) was dealing with a guy in his late 90s, she acted with compassion towards this frail old man and he attacked her with a large knife and stabbed her and severely damaged her arm. It almost cost her both her arm and her career.

The police cannot assume anything and this guy did the right thing - no permanent damage and the situation was ended.

These are not Police 'that have forgotten all their training'! I think they handled the situation as best they could. The person they were trying to arrest was biting and scratching them. If you watch carefully at the very start its not a 'slap .The officer uses his hand across the womans face (possible to stop her spitting) and her head goes back and hits the metal gate behind her head. Two of the Police officers were taken to hospital treated with bite and scratch injuries. Each of those officers could have downed that girl with a swift punch but apparently they are not allowed to do that its all about 'restraint' these days. If this had been in many other countries that girls parents would have been organising a funeral!

Gosh if only spath had been there to sort it out, all of this would have been avoided
Spath, do read the post by AuntLydia^^^

She was no Lady , Spath.
I have neither the inclination nor the energy to join in the the Spath show - the Officers made the best of a difficult situation under those circumstances.

Better than a close range taser to the body.

Hope all recover quickly.

In the course of performing an arrest (similar circumstances) my Dad had to get a bit 'physical'.
When questioned about this, in the courtroom, he candidly stated that he had "......thumped the accused *once* as hard as he could, so that he didn't have to hit him any more times than that."
It was accepted......even by the accused!! LoL
//I wonder why they didn't taser this lady?//
Not all officers carry tasers or are trained in taser use.
I thought a good slap on the chops was the appropriate remedy when faced with an hysterical person. She was like a wild animal.

The police were quite correct in their actions.
Spath why not join the Police force and teach them the Spath restraining method ( Pat. allied for)

" hang on their missy stand still old girl 'till I gets me taser out. oh! don't spit , (turns to female police officer " pass me a kleenex doris) now you naughty young miss put your hand out to get these lovely cuffs on or I may have to zap you. "
" Slap on the chops " love it.

One of the most sensible answers on the thread.

Spath, but they couldn't simultaneously taser the girl while trying to restrain her though. As I said earlier, im no fan of the police but in this instance I could see no wrong doing. (from the police that is)
And there are guide lines for using a taser.
