A typically excellent post in the discussion above from the judge stated this:
".... I’m more concerned with it (UK) being able to determine its own future without being dictated to by unelected foreign civil servants. No Remainer has ever explained to me why they are quite prepared to put up with this which would not be tolerated by any other democratic country in the world outside the EU." - I thought this worthy of it's own post, over to you remainers.....Why are you happy to be controlled by unelected foreign civil servants?

It is a little confusing to see (some) Brexiters constantly playing the victim and howling about being talked down to whenever anyone makes even the most tepid criticism of Brexit... and then using every opportunity to discuss the issue to spit venom at people who disagree with them, assert that they are traitors, imply that they are "less British" (and therefore inferior). It really does cast a poisonous mist over the subject.
Krom. Only if you take them seriously :-)
It's a serious issue, anne, which would be easier to get some clarity on without the bombardment of toxic accusations of treachery or paranoid insinuations of un-Britishness.
We are not playing the victim, we are the victors.
I thought that post was quite shocking. There are respectable arguments in support of leaving the EU but they rarely get an airing here :-)
It’s been a very divisive issue all round
The current BA post I mean
"...we are the victors"

Evening Mr Meldrew. :-)

It's possible that Togo might have been trolling for a reaction.

I don't know for sure.

If he isn't, then...I dunno.

I wouldn't worry about it, krom.
According to lots of Remainers, including some on this site, us Brexiteers will all be dead soon.
Brexiteers will be dead soon, well I for one missed those headlines.

You need only a modest attention span to remember the "Brexit for Dummies" misrepresentation of the referendum as Youth and Opportunity v Old and Reactionary.

Another requirement to evaluate the issue honestly is a three digit IQ.
Like 123 go :-)
Are we nearly there yet?
Won't be long now, Mamya.
Not quite, back to the drawing now me thinks !!
The result of the referendum was to leave the EU, and that is happening.
The terms of our leaving are being worked out, and a date set.
So I do not really see why we still have multiple brexit threads and rabid sniping. You are the victors but you would never guess by the way you are behaving. I do not see rejoicing or happy faces, I see acrimony and loathing.
After any vote there will be bad losers. But we seem to be experiencing a first - bad winners.
Togo's post is like something out of Harry Potter. Only Brexiters are "pureblood" British, it would seem.

What nonsense.
‘I think you've cracked it, BA, never thought of it like that before but it makes perfect sense’

Only In the ’ Toravers’ which you inhabit. What a strange notion. I’ve traced my family tree back to 1700 without any mention of anyone not being English.
