there is a housing shortage in London, so instead of a pub they can make a few flats for the residents of Grenfell to move into if they want it.

JTH, I have no issue with gay bars, used to drink regularly in a bar in Bruxelles affectionately known by the British as the Tranny Arms. What I do have a problem with is, as in this case, where help is given in preference. It is wrong and not only that it brings Gay Bars to the fore for every nutter with a grievance. Until we stop this special treatment for small...

This is outright discrimination. Plod should be round there pronto. But they wont will they?

World has gone mad. Having said that, with the religious beliefs of many Tower Hamlets denizens I'm surprised a bar of any sort is allowed.
It would only be discrimination if they didn't let straight people in.
So you think if I setup a bar and called it a hetero sexual bar that plod wouldnt be round feeling my collar?

The LBGT bunch want it all their own way, similar to most minority groups but they are causing a problem by all this, it just reignites the resentment.
yeah because there's a real shortage of gay bars in the people's republic of Tower Hamlets! hell in a hand cart!
Why would you do that? Where has anyone done that?
Crazy if true......Stop the World, I want to get off.!!!!!!!

I have had enough of all the Gay TV programmes thats been on BBC the past week as well :-(
If gay bars are closing at such a rate then what is the point in establishing another one.
Does your TV only have a couple of channels, trt?

The developers are on board with this so don't see why the DM has its' knickers in a knot over this. Unless.....
Well from my experience it's not at all unusual to have planning stipulations when redeveloping a site to replace like with like.

The developers are on board with the idea and nine luxury flats for those that want them, seems fair enough.
danny at 12:46, good question.
Naomi, It's not a good question at all. It's an ignorant question. A typical AnswerBank 'I can't be bothered to research' question.
It's a bit like saying, 'oh them Falcons are dying out, so we'll just let them' without asking why.

It matters nt whther the developers are on board or not. They wont care, they just build and move on and its unlikely they live anywhere near.

As I see it the big issue here is it is outright discrimination , like I said above how long would you give me if I said I was opening a heterosexual bar?

Zacs, no there arnt any (because pold would arrest anyone trying) and no I wouldnt do it because I believe in equality and integration. Unlike some on here.
Can you provide one example of any bar in the UK which labels itself as a heterosexual only bar?

Glad to hear about your unbiased views tho.
So then Zacs, the problems the LBGT bas face are one of council greed, just like any other bar. I wonder if Mr Khan, whose voters probably hate all dens in inequity that serve the devils brew, will be assisting the other bars too? Or maybe he will help address the problem that pubs are shutting in the East End for some reason?
Calm down, ymb.....
Read Zac's link and that will explain it all to you.

Gay bars don't ban heterosexuals from going in......not until they start behaving like gonks, in any case. It's polite to call them Gay bars, so that anyone passing through the doors isn't going to be 'outraged' by what they see in there.

Read my post properly Zacs. It's in there.
You will be welcomed in any gay bar, youngmafbog - you don't have to prove your sexuality on entry.
So you truly believe that the only reason there isn't a bar which is for heterosexuals only is not because it would be morally wrong but because 'plod' would close it down?
JTH, I have no issue with gay bars, used to drink regularly in a bar in Bruxelles affectionately known by the British as the Tranny Arms.

What I do have a problem with is, as in this case, where help is given in preference. It is wrong and not only that it brings Gay Bars to the fore for every nutter with a grievance. Until we stop this special treatment for small groups the bigotry and violence against such groups will continue. We all need to be one big melting pot, all treated the same.
Reading your pots on here and in other threads I think you have got out of bed the wrong side today. You seem to be being deliberately antagonistic far more than normal.
