"The Conservatives promised a free vote on fox hunting in their general election manifesto, and during the campaign Theresa May said she was in favour of bringing it back.

But Mrs May lost her majority in the election and now ministers say will be no vote in this "session".

Well, at least here is some good news !

This is why I voted Labour to help reduce her majority and it worked, as many others did it as well !!

Saw that. The election does have a silver lining then.

Indeed it does OG......well done to J Corbyn !
That'll stop the foxes marching on Downing Street and spend their time on other foxy matters

Actually, I doubt that this vote would have come off anyway, whatever the result of last months unnecessary Election.

Even lots of the Tories don't like hunting wild animals with dogs.
Great news, but why thank Corbyn?

Because he clutches at any straw he can.
what a load of rubbish even to have it in the manifesto or on the government/opposition radar screens - if there aren't more important matters to be taken care of.
just indicative of the poor campaign and manifesto, I don't know what the tories were thinking, it beggars belief, this has to go down as the biggest own goal in history. Frankly the pursuit of the inedible by the unspeakable is of no interest to me but why the PM even brought this up is beyond me.
I believe that she brought it up because she was asked. Personally I think that the promised vote is a cross between a hot potato and a sop for Cerberus. A vote would be unwelcome because of the trouble it would cause; similarly to remove it from the manifesto would cause trouble from a different group of people. Its a teeny weeny benefit from Brexit that its given another good excuse to shelve the promised free vote.
Politics! The thrill of the chase...

Yep. Never mind everything else. The foxes are safe for the time being – and that’s what counts, eh Mikey?
I used to have one in my beer garden in London most days, which I fed on scraps from the kitchen.

The pub was called, 'the fox on the hill'.

trt....If Corbyn hadn't had done so well last month, May would still have a sizeable majority, and I have no doubt that this Bill of Fox Hunting would still be in the Queens Speech.

May didn't help herself of course, but Corbyn deserves some praise. And that is why I have given hereIam BA !
the foxes are safe but the government is a shambles, with ministers abandoning traditional cabinet responsibility and charging around with daggers in their hands frantically backing the policies they opposed last week. I think that can be safely blamed on May, actually.

Anyway, someone's happy

jno....I think what we are seeing now, is a modern equivalent of the Fall of Rome, in regards to the Tory Party. They are becoming more undisciplined as each day dawns, and the last time that happened, it was under Major.

Mrs May...beware the Ides of March !
//…. charging around with daggers in their hands frantically backing the policies they opposed last week.//

Sounds like mad axe-man Jeremy Corbyn!
I see they've now abandoned their plans to dump free school lunches too.

Well, that was a highly successful manifesto.
Tally SO!
> I see they've now abandoned their plans to dump free school lunches too.

Jno, are you saying they made a meal of that issue too?
