Lets just say he is denied the comfort of holding his own opinion by the wolf pack mentality of the vociferous minority. Far from being 'howled down' his comments stunned the room into silence and then the 'discussion-after-the-fact' took place on Social media.

Of course he is allowed to hold any opinion he chooses but to vocalise those opinions to a room full of people about whom he knows absolutely nothing is naive in the extreme, if he had expectations that they would not be challenged.
