Very sensible. Brexit seriously threatens the existence of the U.K. and threatens to destabilise Ireland. She has no choice. The votes in Scotland and NI cannot be ignored. What exactly one does, I don't know, but I don't think anyone else does yet either

Brexit supporters were lying all the time. All politicians were lying. It's a shame that apparently that doesn't matter to people.

It's silly to see people in denial about this, or more troubling to pretend that it doesn't matter. It does -- because these are the people who ultimately will make the decisions, no? Well, some of them anyway. Half of the leaders of the Leave campaign ran a mile once the result came in.
Scotland had the referendum. Just relax. Sturgeon is irrelevant. She does not speak for all Scots. Her cronies are an embarrassment considering their behaviour in Westminster recently. Very sour and disrespectful. May just working her from the back very skillfully.

C'mon jim, hand me that spade before you hit magma.
If it was only a suggestion that some of the money be given to the NHS, why do the words "some of" not appear in the NHS poster?
Jim, this really is getting silly - really.
Question Author
Corby, the words 'all of' don't appear either. Cunning Devils those politicians, eh Fawlty!
People are brilliant at seeing the holes other people are digging, but never their own. I appreciate the potential irony of this statement, by the way. But my main point is it's a pathetic response to talk about holes people are digging, because it's not an argument or discussion, just a way to avoid one.

But never mind. The aspirations, if you will, may well turn out to be hollow. If that's so, I look forward to seeing the next way people weasel out of it.

As usual this thread has strayed away from the original post.

Personally I never see a problem with this, threads either develop or end rather quickly..

As I don't see a problem with it can we for a change stop the predictable Farage rhetoric (because we have heard all that on numerous occasions)

And let us sing the praises of the top people running the European union.
Let us start with Jean-Claude Drunker.

Weasels are quite good at digging holes I believe.
Tut, predictive text eh? .... Jean-Claude Juncker
Same as calling things silly. It's not up to you to decide what is and what is not.

The Leave campaign could have been conducted far more honestly and accurately. It is remarkable that people continue to insist otherwise.
THECORBYLOON, another one who won't take the trouble to think. The figure given was clearly only 'some' of the money we pay to the EU each year.
jim, //Same as calling things silly. It's not up to you to decide what is and what is not. //

You could have added 'ner ner' to the end of that.

I'm sorry but it is up to me. I don't imagine everyone accepting my opinion but it is mine, and I shall say it.
"The figure given was clearly only 'some' of the money we pay to the EU each year."

The figure given was £350 million a week, no? That represents all of the money we give to the EU each week. In fact, it represents more than all of it, because we never gave £350 million a week to the EU, but something closer to half of that.

The headline was clear, even if it was just an aspiration. No doubt if you go to the small print you'll find some small print, but the headline said what it said, and shouldn't have said that.

As it true of the remain camp?
I give up you have definitely done the full 360 on this thread Jim.
Yes, although I've already said as much a few times, in this thread and elsewhere. Given the result, it's mostly the claims of Vote Leave et al that will and should fall under scrutiny.
Question Author
Is stubborn-ness a Scottish trait?
That amounts to keeping the same position, Talbot, so I'm rather pleased about that.
