Nothing's 'going on' Mikey, just like there's nothing going on with recently reported deaths of famous people of a certain age. Stuff happens all the time, everywhere. Don't have nightmares.

The only connection that I can foresee is that the poor girl murdered must have been known to one or both of the killers. Or that the mother was known to them, through her work as a school dinner lady.
And how many children are there in the UK?
ummmm

/// For goodness sake, AOG, pointing out that it's always happened doesn't make anyone an apologist!! ///

It does when one tries to dilute the fact that such crimes committed by children are on the increase.
Disagree. No one is excusing or apologising for their acts or behaviour.

AOG...I am interested in the source of your figures.

I too, suspect that serious crimes committed by children is on the increase.
I don't think that any increase could be put down to an general increase in the amount of children in Britain, but it would be helpful if we could see some evidence.
I believe, Togo, that the connection between the killers and their victims is likely to be a good deal closer than you've suggested.
Question Author
Mush...this would appear to have all the hallmarks of a "domestic" rather than a random crime.
## // Between 2008 and 2011, 81 children were convicted of the crime in England and
Wales. /// ##

It must be the way theses kids have been brought up by the parents, or lack of.
I would have thought drugs & alcohol were involved as well.

They are well past the age of Criminal Responsibility

Yes Mikey. The papers aren't allowed to name the accused; but the stuff they have been allowed to publish almost tells you how they're placed, relative to the victims.

Dougie...yes, you are probably right !

Not a publication that I am used to, but there is no reason to disbelieve these cases.

Thanks AOG.
Dreadful events but I am inclined to believe that this will prove to be a 'domestic' incident.

There have always been disturbed and feral children........they grow up into disturbed and feral adults unless someone steps in and intervenes.

In addition to those already mentioned, there is this:

http://www.citizensreportuk.org/reports/teenage-murder-london.html

Just London killings, I would presume most were killed by other teenagers.
Feral savages mikey.
Did you read that it is probably a domestic, TTT?
....and that changes what ummmm?
You can't presume they're feral.
