For those of you that are voting to get out of Europe in the upcoming referendum...... When you receive the 'Stay In' propoganda leaflet that Cameron spent £9 million on, don't open it, mark it 'Return To Sender' and pop it in a post box ..... you can even add your own comment on the envelope lol!!

The point is that taxpayers money (including mine - staunchly 'out') is being used, willy-nilly, for the 'Remain' leaflet, Eddie. Leave campaigns are funding themselves through donations from incomes on which tax has been paid. I would rather that £9 million was spent on Libraries or hospitals - or mending the potholes in the roads.

I haven't had my pamphlet yet but I'm assuming it will be delivered by the postman to every house, effectively unaddressed ie, just a plain envelope, if any. The only way to get it back to Downing St will be to put it in an enveope, write the address on it and stick it in a postbox. The postman will ask for underpayment at delivery time, hence the cost to the public purse.
Yes, but not £9 million!! I intend to address mine to Mr. D. Cameron personally so he will be responsible for the payment. If enough people do it ?

Going to bed now. :)
As I pointed out earlier, £9,000,000 represents about 34p per household. Since postage is about double that and underpaid costs about double that, if half the households receiving the pamphlet return it to Downing St, the cost to the exchequer will be around £18,000,000. Don't believe for a minute that addressing it to D Cameron will result in him paying the cost; any letters addressed to him will be filtered out long before they get anywhere near him.

Ha ha TWR. I'm still sending mine back and so are family and friends - can't wait in fact !
Why waste the paper and send it back? I have better use for it!

To send it back is to make a point ..... waste of paper, waste of time and waste of public money, I'm with viv41, I also can't wait lol.
It's very strange that the so called hypocritical stupid Government goes all out to save money, screw the General public, rob the Disabled, rob the pensioners, reduce the Police Forces/ Army, Our Navy & our security, our UK Boarder force, then waste public money on something that will back fire with their scaremongering, whatever you think of IDS, Boris, & a few others that can see the truth, and that the EU has passed it's sell by date, does D.C. think we are all stupid?
Yes I am afraid he does and is not fit to lead the Torys or the country IMO. His arrogance and contempt belong alongside the likes of Blair / Brown et al.

Could be worse, could be Corbinman.
I sense a sea-change through this. Perhaps 'The Secret People' are about to speak. Poem by G.K. Chesterton, worth a read. Can't remember the exact quote, but on the lines of 'We are the people of England and we have not spoken yet'.

The petition is now about 190,000 and still going (to anyone interested). I don't bet as a rule (not even on the Grand National) but I think I will treat myself to a small flutter next week. :) fingers crossed.
^^^ PS Thanks to letter in Telegraph today, I now know that the postcode for 10 Downing St., is SW1A 2AA, so it'll get back quicker! :o)
Just went on one of the "Out of the EU Campaign sites & signed "OUT"
Wouldn't you have been better off signing your name TWR?
Sending mine to,

West Oxfordshire Conservative Association
Waterloo House,
58-60 High Street,
Witney,
Oxon, OX28 6HJ
I'd like to know how any organisation can prepare, design, print and deliver a sixteen page booklet for 34p a pop.
^^ The cost is £9 Million. The 34p is that cost divided between the number of households that will get it. If postage was included the real cost is around £1 a household. The government pay no postage on official mail as I'm sure you know.
Thanks, Zen, address noted. Even better :)
It was designed and printed in Germany Judge, by a company that owes it's future, success, and income to the patronage of..............the EUSSR. They may even be blessed with tax breaks and low energy costs for their compliance.
To be exact, Togo, I think it is printed in UK by a German-owned company, which has had huge EU bail-outs (therefore we've contributed heavily) to help it survive. Insult to injury....... :(
