Apparently all a pregnant Mexican woman has to do, is to wait until she is about to give birth then nip over the border to the US, and her baby then becomes an American citizen.

A wall? perhaps a bit OTT, but then I suppose they said that about Hadrian's.

I think a lot of people with less than a full pper bag of facts are misreading Mr. Trump's popularity. Firstly, we've had a troubling amount of terrible crimes committed by illegal aliens who are here for the third or fourth time, illegally since they aren't tracked adequately by the INS. One of the latest was a young woman ismply ralkin on the pier in San...

AOG - "andy-hughes

/// "Hey Donald, I wouldn't run with that if I were you, you'll look like a right-wing nut job ///

A rather unfortunate choice of words there, I'm afraid Andy.

There is no shame in being right-wing, but it is most offensive to couple 'nut job' with being right-wing."

As I am sure you understand - that phrase was part of a light-hearted imaginary scenario between Mr Trump and one of his 'people' - it was not meant to be taken seriously - hence the expression used.
Mikey, I hope I'm not misunderstanding your mixed syntax but if the question is why did Romney lose, an insightful handful of articles describes "Mitt" as not being confrontational enough when campaigning against Obama... Neatly summed up in this excerpt from Forbes Magazine article: "...Before the first debate in Denver, candidate Romney had shifted right to win the Republican primaries. He was a “severe conservative,” moving his positions on abortion, immigration, climate change, etc. to suit the more conservative primary electorate. When the Denver debate started, Romney came out with a defense of regulation — after the GOP spent four years blaming Obama for wrecking the economy with too many of those.

And the candidate whose advisers said could take an Etch-a-Sketch after the primaries did just that. Suddenly, “Moderate Mitt” re-emerged. Not quite the man who governed Massachusetts, but someone much closer than we’d seen. Someone who — I believe — might have lost the primaries to Rick Santorum (the last conservative standing), but had he been able to campaign that way for a year, might have won the election.

Instead, we got another Massachusetts candidate who could rightly be called a “flip flopper” (and one arguably far more flippy than the last guy). “Romnesia” as a meme didn’t decide this election, but the concept stuck, in part due to its legitimacy..."

It's instructive to note that "...Mitt Romney would be President today if he had secured 333,908 more votes in four key swing states..."

That's democracy for you... the wrong guy always gets elected.
So Mits failure had nothing whatever to do with magic underpants, gold tablets, burning bushes, etc, or any other of the trappings of a weirdo religion then Clanad ?

The Republicans have been out of the White House since 2008. Perhaps they are not appealing to the wider American public enough ?
Mikey, a lot of people (read, voters) sat out the 2012 election precisely because of the items you so succintly list... however, as to the Republican's chances... for the last 8 years, not one criticism of the conduct, mistakes, actual anti-Constitutional actions and downright incompetency of this administration had to be stifled since any such criticism would have been (and were) met with charges of racisim. Obama, being the first Black President has been nearly criticism proof simply because of his race.

Most will agree (even a lot of Democrats) that we and our economy are in dangerous territory due to mostly the incompetence of a large part of the administration, but the supposed crowning of Queen Hillary has hit several snags... due mostly to near-criminal activities that are being announced nealry daily... so we'll see where it all goes now...
Still a long away to go Clanad !
"built to keep the Picts at bay, who really were savages"

Hope that's of some help.
Don't let the waycists upset you, dougal.
Even as a boy I liked the picts & micks.
Apparently, DT is now claiming not to wear a rug, he's had someone at a rally tugging his "hair"!
he's had someone at a rally tugging his "hair"!

No he did not, Zebo.
Donald-Trump-invites-woman-onstage-perform-head-inspection-prove-doesn-t-wear-toup-e

Mea culpe, not tug merely inspect.
But who is it that picks the inspectors? They might be planted in the audience before the meetings.
He should thank his lucky stars he only has to prove he's not bald. There's a kingdom in some southern African state where the new monarch, just before his coronation, has to demonstrate his virility with one of he village maidens. And this in front of an audience of thousands.
Sandy...If she had pulled on his hair she would have revealed a Bobby Charlton that was more Bobby Charlton than Bobby Charlton's Bobby Charlton!
I agree. The question the American electorate need to ask themselves is this: 'Can a man whose judgement is clearly so wrong in small things be trusted with his finger on the nuclear trigger?'
Sandy...the answer to your question should be .......NO !
zebo -"Donald-Trump-invites-woman-onstage-perform-head-inspection-prove-doesn-t-wear-toup-e"

I don't doubt for a minute that Mr Trump's hair is real - I can't believe there is a toupe manufaturer in the world who would risk his reputation by sending a client out with 'that' on his head!!
// Ms. Palin was an attractive, self-dependant addition to his campaign who, nearly on her own re-engergized Mr. McCains flagging attempt//

this isnt irony is it ?

as for the heart rending tale of the young woman being shot to death on the pier by an immigrant - Clanad did you hear/see of the other heart rending tale of the tee vee reporter and cameraman being shot to death by someone who had a legal gun but was obviously from immigrant stock a few generations ago Africa I think ? [ obvious because he was black ]

No you didnt ? I thought not

Hard cases make bad law

( one illegal is bad so they are all bad - really I wouldnt believe it unless it were written )

O Clanad - can you tell AOG the rio grande is both patrolled and defended isnt it ?
Unsure I understand why a country that actually benefits from cross border movement of trade and people would be happy to pay for something designed to restrict it because their neighbour wants and demands it. But politicians do seem to come to inexplicable decisions, especially if a larger party threatens to coerce a smaller one in order to get what they want. Besides if US companies benefit for labour south of the border they are surely not going to see restrictions as a major plus. As for Sarah Palin, well it may be down to the reporting we get here, but a lot of what she says/believes in seems to verge on the border of sanity. Perception of her is not good and it is confusing how anyone would think otherwise.
I think it is the old Shredded Wheat that Arthur Scargill has discarded.
Whenever I have been in California, its was pretty obvious that the State would collapse overnight, without the Mexican workers contribution.
