...with just 36% saying they want out.

Why do you think this is?

Could it be that the rise of UKIP has actually galvanised the waverers?

Could this be the real voice of the 'silent majority'?

With the rise and evident popularity of UKIP, these figures make absolutely no sense...!

Anyone got an idea?

Because I for one am flummoxed

(...and admittedly, quietly/childishly giggling to myself in anticipation of the forthcoming answers).

Considering that the right wing gutter press have been campaigning against the EU for decades the poll result is quite surprising and has restored my oft lagging confidence in the intellect of the British public. Perhaps the gutter press readers are only interested in celeboobs and nipslips and don't actually read the papers that they buy

UKIP have some sensible 'sounding' policies with no idea how to fund them and no experience of running a country. Unfortunately a large proportion of the electorate can't see past the sound bites / headlines.
-----------------
On the contrary Zacs, educate yourself. They would have a very large portion of funds because one policy is to massively cut the amount of taxpayers money that is given away each year in foreign aid.
I don't know about you but I don't like reading headlines about cash-strapped hospitals and children in poverty in the UK whilst we give away hundreds of millions to a country with its own psace programme that recently sent a rocket to Mars.

Read and inwardly digest, then tell me UKIP's policy isn't sensible.

Me - OK Elec Roll minus land reg will give the house occupiers who are not owners...
and then what ?

I hesitate to say I dont understand the thread of your argument as when other people ( the obviously witless ) say it to me, I find it irritating

once yout ell me I am sure I will find the parallel 'obvious'

I have read this week's version of UKIP's policy. Every week it will be varied to match public opinion. Just like the Nazi Party. What a surprize.

Oh dear.
// Read and inwardly digest, then tell me UKIP's policy isn't sensible.//

its cr+p for chrissakes - even the new UKIP MP says the policy is made on the hood and isnt joined up.

Sort of think Alex Salmond with an English accent
hoof.... hoof
not *hood*

sorry
How can they possibly tell unless they have a full vote? As Daisy said "Nobody asked me" and I would add "Nor are likely to". My answer would of course, be let's get out although I admit I voted for entry originally, fondly imagining something much different than has evolved

Fear not, the bogey men in the purple shirts with yellow collars are not yet sharpening their knives.
Remember to remove your foil hat before placing your head on the pillow and void your bladder, don't want a damp mattress do we?

How many polled were illegal immigrants??

Dear Lord man...come on - do you really think that illegal immigrants form a demographic which would significantly affect these poll results.

The whole point about being an illegal immigrant is that you stay 'under the radar!

I didn't take anything methyl said as abusive and certainly took no offence, hence my light-hearted riposte.

No problems here, just a healthy debate.

Is it not possible, that those who wavered on the question of Europe have actually been put off...by UKIP themselves?

Has anyone considered that? I'm not talking about those on the far left, left of soft right - but those silent people who sit back and look at UKIP, and think, "They're not for me?"

Is that not even vaguely possible?

And if that truly impossible why on earth does this poll put the 'out' vote so low, and why did the figures drop as UKIP's popularity with Middle England rise?
Anarchists of UKIP??? I thought they were Nazis?!
The two are about as diametrically opposed as it's possible to be!
So which are they?

Perhaps I should turn in myself. In your post of 00:22, I misread 'anarchists' as 'antichrists'.
