I'm delighted to hear it. I'm no fan of Tesco and I hate the way they have taken over this country and turned it into Tescoland. They donate to the tories so have maybe been able to get away with a lot of dodgy things in the past. Maybe it's all now starting to unravel. Aww, shame!
Backhanders, anyone? Sky News is reporting them to be Dan Jago, Tesco’s UK and group wine director, Sean McCurley, director of convenience foods, and William Linnane, director of impulse purchases.
The names and titles came from The Guardian but the grauniad were quoting Sky News who say..."The other man is understood to be another category director, William Linnane." So and editor at the paper might be telling porkies!
Can there really be a Director for Impulse Purchases ?

I too grew suspicious when I read that. If true, that's the most broad spectrum category on Earth!
mikey, anyone can sell an apple to someone who comes into his shop looking for an apple.
But selling things to people who hadn't planned to buy them - that's an art and a hugely profitable one. Anyone who can do that deserves a seat on the board.
Insider dealing perhaps? Don't know if that is worse than creative accounting...
// In a short statement, the FCA said: “The Financial Conduct Authority has charged Paul Gerard Coyle, the former treasurer and head of tax at Wm Morrison Supermarket plc with two offences of insider dealing, contrary to Section 52(1) of the Criminal Justice Act 1993. The offences relate to trading in Ocado Group plc shares between February and May 2013”. //
I am more interested in who has been suspended from AB. Especially if it's a very highly respected member such as *******: because he was a real star.:-)
Of course, this is only the company disciplinary process, there has been no criminal investigation or arrests. The Serious Fraud Office have a very poor record of successfully prosecuting corporate wrong-doing, and there is nothing to suggest anything will be different in this instance.
