At last the long-standing logjam is beginning to move, and not before time.
Perhaps the authorities will listen to the victims now. What we need is what was called a "drains-up" exercise when I was an Engineer.

The odd fruit-basket make invent a story, svek., but when a man gets accused of sexual abuse by 12 separate individuals it is hard not to think there is some basis for the accusations. The 'but it happened 30 years ago why didn't blah, blah, blah ' argument is total pish.

At least there is movement at last chaps.
Dare they tell the truth? There would/will be a blood bath if it does!
I wonder if as well as investigating 30year old claims some might come forward relating to more recent times?

As long as all those claiming to be victims really were victims.
Do you really think people lie about it? I find that hard to comprehend.

With my sexual abuse case the police weren't interested.
Yes, I think some people lie - especially if well-known names are involved.
Instead of troubling the Police, perhaps the victims would care to run their claims passed the great and the good of Answerbank......after all 'they' don't need benefit of any facts or details, they just use their noses, or educated guesses and can instantly ascertain the veracity of all of these accusations.

It could save the judiciary time and effort and be of great benefit to the public purse...
Are people not allowed opinions in jackland?
the ed could do a poll

Of course they are, svejk.
Only we have found they work better if they are based on some sort of rational footing rather than wish-fulfillment...
Let's hope they don't drag out these 'enquiries' for so long that some of the accused have time to snuff it.

Trials NOW, work out why files went missing later.
its hardly wish fulfilment to acknowledge that some people lie, especially where money's concerned. Some ABers wont allow for that possibility.
Svejk send us another £10 paypal payment and i will agree with you
Do you know what damage they do?
I can’t see the problem with acknowledging that some people lie. They do. False allegations are not unheard of.
People lie, yes they do.

The assumption on almost all AnswerBank threads on the subject is that many/most/all of the victims coming forwards are simply seeking compensation......by any means necessary, and that must be a crushing attitude to be on the receiving end of.

There has to be an independent inquiry.

Missing files? I do not know the truth and anyone who has worked in an organisation knows what it is like to track down missing files...impossible.

Yes lying does occur, but more worrying is the exaggeration of their disabilities, particularly regarding psychological and psychiatric sequelae.
