Further evidence of Morriseys decline into narcissism, madness and irrelevance, or a desperate attempt by a faded star to regain some tabloid inches? Or does he have a point (not in my opinion! )

Most people I don't care about rating meat arethe very peoe who are unlikely to be able to kill the animals themselves. Also they have to ignore such emotions of empathy because it would upset them if they actually saw or visuallised the animal being killed. Unfortunately this has a negative effect on people when it come to wars and major accidents. Eating meat is not the only thing that effects this but contributes to it in a small way.
The human race is killing other life forms for mere taste and greed. It depends on how you classify the importance if life. For me all life is equal in fact life is a vous which captures energy from our universe. Treating any other life form is equally as bad.
Humans used to be great and now we are reduced to life forms who cares nothing for other life. The majority of people alive are more interested in not missing the soaps on TV rather than people being killed in wars or accidents.
It is what people have been reduced to through no fault of their own to a certain extent.
So why doesn't all of that ethical concern apply to plants, which are just as alive?
It does for fruitarians such has Steve Jobs.
//It does for fruitarians such has Steve Jobs//

I could be wrong, but being dead isn't perhaps the best advert for a particular food fad.
Weirdos, all of the them !
Morrisey is as he has always been, ever so slightly round the bend. It is only fairly recently that as humans we've been closeted from the brutal truths of meat production. Animals used to be slaughtered in the streets or you killed your own if you lived in the country and plenty of people ate meat and even more would have loved to if they could have afforded it.
It always seems to me that those who are so fussed about ethical considerations when it comes to meat-eating have never watched a nature documentary in their life. Have they not seen how horribly cruel nature can be in its desperate pursuit of food for survival? If ever there was a creation, then the creator was clearly a sadist extraordinaire.

It is possible to kill animals in a manner that minimises their suffering -- and, in the build-up, some can also have very pleasant and happy existences. I'm all for avoiding inflicting a life of misery on animals that leads up to a brutal and horrible death, but I think this can be achieved while still enjoying the food at the end of it. You can even tell, to some extent, what the animal knew about its fate. Animals that see their death coming are stiff as a board afterwards, and the result is usually unpleasant meat. An animal dying in blissful ignorance leads to tender meat -- and if additionally it led a pleasant life with a good diet and plenty of exercise that also leads to better-quality meat.

And anyway, it tastes nice.

More tosh brionon.
You don't wanna believe it ?? OK but it's still true.
Jim that is not true. Why do you think they cook animals alive in China? It's not from cruelty it or lazy ness as it is easier to kill them first before cooking.

Regarding your comparison to a nature program. Well it's no comparison really. What would you rather have? A normal life of wondering free, meeting other mates and have children with a small risk of being captured and brutally eatin by a predator or would you rather be born into captivity. Live in disease hazardous crowded environments to be then one day have your throat slit to feed someone's taste buds.
Most of the lads I hang out with at work are meet eaters and they come out with the same brain dead comparisons you did hun
What do you mean mikey 'more tosh' ?? So, animals aren't killed by having their throats cut and bleeding to death then ?? Get your facts right before you call another poster's comments 'tosh'! Typical of you though.

Personally, I think Morrisey is entitled to his opinion and as for China Doll's best answer, if he got to know you, he might think you're a 'dick' too !!

sometimes by eating meat:o)
Like I said, Uk, I'm all for avoiding battery farming and don't support that. I think there is a middle way, that you -- and others -- seem to have not even considered possible.

At any rate, some of the cruellest deaths or manners of eating can be found in the animal kingdom.
I don't know who he is but the men in the white coats ought to collect him.
'as for China Doll's best answer, if he got to know you, he might think you're a 'dick' too !! '

^^^ He's the sort of person who's good opinion I wouldn't want, so I can live with that.

Bring on the bacon!
Isn't there evidence that bacon can be carcinogenic? Cutting down of the meat intake would be much healthier.
you are correct, sandyRoe

Is there any more lethal diet than the full British breakfast?
I was a vegetarian from 7 to 21 and only started eating meat again when i was breastfeeding first child and was so permanently hungry, I'd eat anything. I don't agree with halal meat and think all animals should be looked after and killed properly. Many wouldn't be bred in the first place, if they weren't eaten. I do have a lot of empathy with vegetarians still. But to liken eating meat to being a paedophile kills any argument he has from the start.

how about this example of the heart attack on a plate?

so you don't like morrissey, what about paul, he's not a dick
Honestly BongoFury, my feelings on Paul McCartney aside that's not telling me anything I don't already know or haven't already seen; while I prefer animals to be killed humanely, videos like this are not going to a) make me think Morrisey is less of a dick or b) stop me eating meat. In fact if anything, I think it's a bit odd that people feel the need to show these as if they're some sort of revelation, there is so much information available in papers, on the internet, via documentaries that there really is no excuse not to know where your meat is coming from... and indeed to decide to eat it anyway.
