Putting a cross in every box should do the trick.

As weggiewabbit says a tick in all the boxes counts as spoiled.
Also:~
No boxes at all filled
A line through all boxes.
A Political statement written in the boxes.
In fact anything that is not just a cross in ONE box will make it a spoiled paper.

Why would you want to? You only get one vote so why go to the bother of spoiling it? If you don't want to use the vote properly, don't go to the polling station!
Just hope one of your ancestors wasn't a suffragette!

Technically a vote is only counted if it is one cross in one box.
However in reality the returning officer will accept a vote if it clearly indicates the intention of the voter.
I have seen on ballot paper in which all boxes were crossed except for one, which was ticked.
It was counted in four of the candidate to whom had the "tick"
Most spoils are deliberate, and usually by supporters of parties not represented.
Simply folding the paper and placing in the despatch box quite untouched will leave it counted as a spoilt ballot.
