A 3 year transitional period 'with continued free movement of people, single market access, a customs union arrangement and potentially oversight from a supranational tribunal structure' (whatever one of those is).

Is this what you voted for, leavers?

The Conservatives are criminally incompetent. Perhaps you imagined that the words above are my, thoughts. They well might have been, of course, since I agree with them. However, they formed the headline for Matthew Parris’s column in Saturday’s Times. (Their site has a pay-wall, so I have no link for you and, in any case, I read it in...

I voted to come out and so gain control. If our decision is that it is best to change everything immediately, then so be it. If our decision is that we need to make changes gradually, then so be it. Our elected governments will do their job.

The only thing we need to watch is any attempt to get out on paper only and still tie us into all the unacceptable impositions we're trying to leave behind.

That stated I'm sure that the government knows there is no chance of accepting free movement from day one. Folk will need passports/visa/whatever is decided upon. No idea what is meant by a tribunal structure, our courts will decide what goes here even if the existing law remains in place (minor working edits excepted) until they are reconsidered. Customs union will depend on the details, where the devil is allegedly. Again retaining any impositions that we voted to get away from, is unacceptable.

We still have to see what a possible agreement will be. Anything else is presently just personal speculation from folk with personal reasons to push a particular view.

Good post OG. We've all got a particular view to push. I'm pleased to hear you have implicit trust in our Govt to do the right thing. I'll bear that in mind.
Ah, the Grauniad gives us a piece about a soft Brexit from the Chancellor who isn't keen on leaving, and just wants an economy without any blips, while those who know what's needed are away.

It's in the Torygraph too OG. But it's in their cunning 'premium' section.
I believe they are the obvious group saying the right things. Other groups are clearly soft on change. I'd prefer Farage in charge but that's not going to happen. One has to go with the best of a bad set of choices.
Just Hammond writing a peevish resignation note. When the cat's away the mice will play.
This is Philip Hammond (a staunch remainer) doing all he can to delay Brexit.

Wasn't Mrs May a 'staunch remainer'?
Zacs, thanks for the link. Do like to know what a thread is all about before responding. ;o)

It's not what I voted for, but then I've always suspected the Leavers would be stitched up in one way or another so nothing surprises me.
ZM, Mrs May was, Hammond is.

Togo, if that's the case, it demonstrates the infighting which is still very prevalent amongst the cabinet, yet we have OG pronouncing that they have his complete support to see Brexit through and 'do their job'.

Do you see any basic flaws in those two standpoints?
Question Author
So Mrs may has had a complete political volte-face has she? And your happy that our politicians can do this?
Question Author
You're (tut)
Mrs, May is honouring thereferendum
Question Author
Of course she is, of course she is. Where do you buy those political blinkers Danny, EBay , Amazon?
Doesn't all this show what a nonsense the EU actually is?

I wanna quit the EU

No contradiction. Rarely is there complete agreement, especially on controversial issues. But the team in control of Brexit seem on the right path at present.
more bellyaching from the remainers, you lost get over it. We'll make it work one way or another, bound to be some issues to resolve. Instead of pointing at every wrinkle knuckle down and get with the program, we are leaving the EU end of.
