Lost Car Keys

We have an 08 reg Ford Mondeo diesel estate car and have lost the keys. Before we go down the 'new locks via a Ford dealer' route, can anybody suggest anything else ? TIA

I heard the AA can cut and program new keys at the roadside or at your house.
