I have been inconsolable all day. I got my theatre tickets out this morning for the pantomime I am going to next week, only to find I should have been there yesterday!! I have been all over the place lately as on top of being ill for nearly a month then Christmas plus I have had a lot of hassle with the finances related to my mum being in a care home. I know this is no excuse but I went to so much trouble arranging the trip and paid for top price tickets, do you think I have any chance of any compensation or replacement tickets if I explain? The ticket office is closed today. It was only 2 tickets but I think I already know I have no chance.

Defenitely ask them. From experience I suggest you write a nice email direct to the Manager. Just explain that you got the tickets out only to discover they were for the wrong performance and you wonder if he/she could use their discretion to allow you in at the performance you had expected to attend. Thank them for thier consideration and wish them a happy new...

What a shame. No harm in asking, but i think, as far as they're concerned, you might have gone to see it. They can't tell if you turned up or not. Is it worth looking for some more last-minute tickets?
Sorry to hear that Pips1, It would definately be worth asking if they could perhaps give you replacement tickets if you explain the situation (they will probably not give you any money back as the theatre is not at fault) If you don't mind me asking was it the Theatre Royal or the Playhouse or a smaller theatre elsewhere?

It was The Theatre Royal and it is my fault at the end of the day. I still can't believe it though.
If that doesn't do it maydup, nothing will. Well done.
Ps if its the Theatre Royal or concert hall, the guy to email is

[email protected]
I agree with Maydup, If you are local and able, it might be worth popping in to speak to the House Manager 'Emily Noakes' in person (or email:[email protected]) or ticket sales manager Nicola Blackburn ([email protected])
They might be able to offer ou replacements for a night that hasn't sold out or last minute seats for no charge? Worth a go and Good Luck :-)

Thank you all, I will definitely try with an email, no harm in trying. Thanks for email address maydup.

I am so grateful for all your replies and help, I will certainly let you know how I get on.
so sorry for you pips this sort of thing happens to me often, but its definitely worth a try, after all you have the original tickets to show your story is true. Something similar happened to me for Dickens Christmas World in Kent and the manager Claire was so nice and gave me a new booking on the house.
Similar thing happened to me in reverse. OH booked to take us to see Michael Flatley, got the tickets out ready to go and discovered it was for twelve months ahead. We eventually went and enjoyed it too.

Update: Just spoke to Nicola Blackburn who was lovely, she totally understood and although she couldn't reimburse me she said my son had been online to try and rebook for next week and she was going to make sure we had the best seats available.
Pips....good news.....enjoy the pantomime.....x
YAY! Result! Hope you have a fantastic time! :-)
