Well they are doing what they are supposed to do, make you notice them.

Yes, I find it very annoying. I find I take less notice of them than cars without lights.
I see people on the motorway in thick fog with no lights on.
Unbelievable. |
2SP, in Egypt I've seen drivers turn off their headlights when entering a stretch of road with overhead lights!
I was driving on a dual carriageway yesterday and it was battering it down with rain, visibility was probably reduced to about 50m and about half the cars I saw didn't have any lights on at all!
The one that annoys me (and it's illegal) is drivers who drive about with their front fog lights on all the time because they think it looks "cool". |

I have noticed that the fog light offender's are most usually of the soft lad brigade, you know the back to front base ball hat and usually driving around in a Vauxhall Cosa / Astra, Renault Clio, Fiat Punto type of car with blacked out windows, lowered suspension and a drain pipe type exhaust sticking out of the back lol.

And probably villa supporters as well, tony x

Oi Blue nose, you can pack that in lol.

A Vauxhall Cosa? I have not seen many of them lately?

Daytime Headlights have been around since the 70's. Just after we were married, we bought a new Volvo Estate with Daylights and the number of times we were flashed by on-coming cars was hilarious. I think the Volvo setup of smaller lights being lit, is better than full headlights in good weather.
I too, hate people who just have sidelights on in foul weather. |
Your answer is in your question....YOU HAVE SEEN THEM!
"...in Egypt I've seen drivers turn off their headlights when entering a stretch of road with overhead lights!"
To do so in Britain is not illegal provided the road is restricted (e.g. has a 30mph limit determined by the spacing of roadside street lamps) and not in bad weather. |
