You learn something new every day. Needless to say. I don't "push" the car hard thro bends because the state of even main roads where I live is diabolical. I think I will remove it and see if the handling suffers damatically. Thanks for your prompt reply. I'm very grateful |

What is the exact Kit car and setup?
If it's leaf springs then you can probably remove it, if it's coil springs then removing it would probably be a bad idea! |

It has a cruciform chassis and uses MGB back axle and leaf springs. It has an aluminium and fibre glass body so is a lot lighter than an MGB and therefore accelerates better. Now I know what this rod does, I can understand why it is fitted. I only use it to tootle around. Nothing too exciting.

I'd certainly want to keep it if at all possible, without it the back end will feel a lot looser...
It's definitely a standard part that comes with the chassis pack for that car and I can see that it would be a lot easier to remove it than it would be to replace the bushes in it.
