Just been out for a couple of hours, haven't used the VRs for about 10 days, so took it for a run down to Dover, The dual carriageway was quiet so gave it a blast, I don't know about the claimed top-speed (155) yet, but I got 142 on the clock before I had to back off, we'll see what it can do proper after the Easter w/end.

Yeah, but it was fuuuunnnn!
Boy Racer!!! x
LOL.
I thought you were talking about a motorbike. That car doesn`t look capable of reaching those speeds. You`re joking, right?

From Autoexpress,
The petrol powered Skoda Octavia vRS 2.0 TSI will sprint to 62mph in 6.8s and a top speed of 154mph is enough to gain it the title of 'fastest Skoda ever built'. With the optional DSG twin-clutch gearbox performance and fuel economy are blunted but the difference is very slight. It's a similar story with the 2.0-litre TDi diesel derivatives which are slower (8.1s 0-62mph and 144mph with the six-speed manual gearbox) but usefully more economical.

Not joking, Why do you think the Police use a lot of them?
So if you buy one, does it exempt you from the UK speed limit laws?
There's a waiting list for all new Skodas at the moment. Imagine saying that 20 years ago!

Only when no-one's looking!
OK. I`ll remember that when I come over to your place and drink a bottle of champage and drive home - hopefully I`ll get away with it if no`one`s looking. On a lighter note, I was in Germany and my cousin`s friend had a Porche and we drove along the autobahn at 100mph. It took my breath away!
I learnt my lesson doing 110 on the M3. Got 5 penalty points, 320 fine, 65 costs and the magistrates held up a nearly closed finger and thumb to show how close I had come to losting my licence. Although I didnt admit to anything in court I was racing with an XK8. I won. (although others may say he won as they didnt stop him)

Speeding is something I do now and again, when I know the roads and they are not busy, Drinking and driving is not something I would even consider. (not having a go btw)
100+mph is not uncommon on the Continent on the right road of course.
I grew out of going mad as far as speeding is concerned by the time I was 30. I`m not sure I would want to do that now. Each to their own, though.

Ah, I see, but knitting's just not so much fun,
or so I'm told anyway!!

;o)
Knitting - what`s that? I do have a life you know - how very dare you :-)
Balders....think yourself lucky you aint got an M5.....0-62 IN 3.8s and a top speed of 215 mph...from a 4.5 v8...its very tempting but not possible with Mrs speed limiter sitting in the passenger seat :-)

I don't really have that problem BS, apart from the fact she doesn't wear pink, I sometimes think I'm married to Penelope Pitstop.
Well she did marry you so she's used to danger!
Baldric. Whatever you do, don't go to Warwickshire. I had to go on a "Speed Awareness" course to avoid the fine and points. My sin? 35mph in a 30 limit.
Yes to all the correct brigade. It was my own fault, but 35mph. Come on!

Not from me sibs, . . . .
