Ice Age

10:55 Fri 09th Jul 2010 |

Ice Age is a thrilling, chilling comedy adventure. The film was made by Fox’s Blue Sky Studio and was undeniably a huge success and has now been revisited in two equally good sequels. With original characters featuring the voice talents of Ray Romano, Denis Leary and John Leguizamo, Ice Age is undeniably cool.

Audiences loved this film and could immediately identify with the major characters. The depth of the characterisation is the real strength of the film which comes across in the indisputable chemistry between the actors. The main storyline is well supported by subplots and characters and rounds out the pre Ice Age world that we are experiencing. The visual effects and CGI is top notch especially the ice which has to be one of the most difficult things to reproduce electronically.

The story is about a mismatched trio of Palaeolithic animals who have rescued a human baby and are trying to return it to its tribe. Manny, the mammoth, is grumpy and grieving over the loss of his own family to a tribe of hunters, Sid, the sloth, is a slightly creepy individual who is really all heart and Diego, the sabre toothed tiger, is the smooth talking muscle of the group. Their journey across the prehistoric world includes many great moments including finding a submerged alien spacecraft in a glacier and a desperate fight against a pack of sabre toothed tigers.
