Game Of Death

11:25 Fri 09th Jul 2010 |

Game of Death is a classic Kung Fu Film. Tragically, Bruce Lee died before shooting of this film was completed and so it was almost completely rewritten and Bruce only appears at the end. The film also stars Sammo Hung, Chuck Norris, and Kareem Abdul-Jabbar.

For many diehard fans the film was a huge disappointment, not only had their Kung Fu hero, Bruce Lee, passed away but that his demonstration piece film had been butchered and was just seen as an attempt to cash in on the still massive appeal of its star. While this may all be true, the film still has a huge following and is seen by many as a fitting tribute to one of the great martial arts legends.

On the whole the opinion seems to be that any Bruce Lee fan should watch or own this film as he is truly a brilliant performer.

Bruce Lee plays a famous movie actor who is struggling against a racketeering syndicate and his murder is ordered to set an example to others. However, Lee fakes his own death and goes into hiding so he can exact revenge upon those who have wronged him. The climax of the film takes place in a pagoda where Lee must overcome the trials of each floor until he reaches the top and fulfils his ultimate revenge.
