I tuned in half way through this programme last night. What was the significance of the pot of blood stained vaseline she put in the public bin?

no. just like the saying meat is murder.
Derrrr....

Think back alleys - and making the passage into one a little easier. It's what the little runt of a husband used to force her to partake of.

Good programme - I thought matthew mcF played menacing quite well but maxine Peake is brilliant
Question Author
eww thats what i thought, just wanted it confirmed.
Maxine Peake is brilliant in everything she's in - whether it be comedy or drama. I really felt for her character last night, it chilled me to the bone in parts - she conveyed fear and degredation perfectly.

just wish the bbc put it on once a week, you get days when theres nothing on then it all comes at once.
a bit like sex really... in my world anyway.
or am I getting it mixed up with buses?
I was watching with my youngest daughter (twenty and six months pregnant) and she asked for an explanation about the vaseline - which I provided, we have a 'You ask and I'll answer truthfully' relationship -= I'm just glad it wasn't my in-laws!
My daughter (25) didn't get the Vaseline inferrence either - if she had asked I too would have enlightened her - she'd just have gone "Urrgh" !!

Maybe if they would of used KY Jelly that would of saved all the embarrassing questions?
I don't think KY jelly would have conveyed the...errr...gist of it really MiM.
It would have done the same job - but I think the vaseline has certain...errr... conotations?!!
Is this program the same as one that was on where Bradley Walsh was the copper and Ben Daniels was the brief
I thought it was very good and well acted. I just know the policeman and his girlfriend are going to be a pain and you just know she is gong to get a rough ride (as if she hasn't already had one, so to speak, vaseline and all that). Can't wait for the next episodes, will he die or won't he?
