I think they're overdoing the making sure they have a good mix of ethnicity now.

I quite fancied living in Midsommer County; properties must be quite cheap by now, and all you have to do is NOT join any club or society whatsoever to survive. Not so sure now, although all ethnicities introduced do seem to be well integrated - even have English names, - unusual. All very acceptable, but in reality it doesn't work quite like that...

AOG, you clearly have never come across the firm of builders who slogan on the side of their van is 'You've tried the cowboys, now try the Indians'.
//also an Asian builder if it comes to that.//

AOG, I take it you've never lived in Bristol - in the seventies there was a Bristol building firm called Patel Brothers, and the slogan on their van was
"you've had the cowboys, now try the Indians"....
No AOG I guess there isn't a problem just seemed a bit monotonous is all after a few weeks of 'oooh ethnicity in Midsomer'.

Still lots of repeats on TV.

I'll keep my oar out and just watch it :-)

Ahh - Susan Hampshire - i remember watching her in the Pallisers ( can't remember what it was all about though )

Midsummer Murders is like Cabot Cove , in Murder She Wrote - is there anyone left living there ?
//He spoke absolutely perfect English complete with a (shall we say) working class accent, but his sons didn't. //

his offspring were probably portrayed as speakers of "Multicultural London English" - see here

I think if you lived there you'd have to make sure your life insurance was up to date!

Hasn't got the same ring today, somehow.

"You've had the cowboys, now try the Native Americans"
even that's old hat now AOG. officially they're "First Nation Peoples".
