I read a remarkable letter in the paper this morning about the Chilcot Report. Unbelievable. What do others think?

Basically, it's saying that Tony Blair did nothing wrong, should always support the U.S. In military action without question. Unbelievable.

Interesting perspective from the writer, advising that Chilcot cannot 'give the people what they want'. What the people want is an honest and detailed appraisal without fear or favour of how this country was marched into an unwinnable war without an end-plan, or proper plan for what it was going to do when it got to the front. That is what Chilcot is being paid...

Not sure remarkable sums it up accurately. More like a stupid letter published to get a lot of page clicks.

Chilcot is now in his sixth year and indicating he will not be finished for another year. How the letter writer calls that 'rushed' is a mystery. Everyone mentioned in the report have been given the opportunity to respond to it, so clearly no one will be able to criticise it on grounds of hasty conclusions.

That is what Chilcot is being paid for - I fail to see why it is beyond his grasp to deliver it.
The first invasion of Iraq, the Gulf War, under George Bush Senior was won in 100 hours.

Blair thought he was signing up to something similar.

Blair's mistake was over estimating George W. bush.
