Indeed. Not much of a vehicle for John Simms. The film with Tommy Lee Jones and Harrison Ford set the standard, and this 3-parter is a sad rehash.

Is the 'nice' police lady going to turn out to be 'nasty' and vice versa?
I really enjoyed it, and the ending completely caught me by surprise.

Maybe I'm wrong. Never fail to be disappointed by the fact that, often, it's the mood you're in that clouds objective judgement.
When i first read the synopsis for this 3 part drama, i also thought it would just be a rehash of The Fugitive - film not tv series - but i have been mildly surprised. Whereas the film was a straightforward story on 'man on the run trying to prove his innocence', this has a little more intrigue attached to it in the shape of police corruption. It's certainly interesting enough to have me tuning in for the finale, next week. And let's face it, it's not as if it clashes with anything remotely interesting.
it isnt a re hash of any film . it was written by someone who s from Horwich ( town mentioned in program)
