No trace of another brother. If one exists, we need Sherlock Holmes on the case! :o)

Could it be Barratt Homes, the brother who went into construction, they allude to?
Dare I say this, re Dr Who fans influencing the Sherlock scripts?
They spend so much cash, time, and effort, in supporting their heroes, can they not be entitled to a say?
Signed, mum of a whovian of some 34 years.
LoL Sandy

Gene Wilders film "The adventures of Sherlock Holmes Smarter Brother" had Gene Wilder playing a 3rd brother, Sigurson Holmes.

`g'night.
Wasn't that the best ever Sherlock Holmes ?
With references to Moriarty coming back, apart from a ''falling asleep in the shower & it was all a dream'' sequence I can't see him coming back from the dead but who knows there are so many clever twists & turns in the programme it could even be revenge from a sister named Mary Arty.

WR.
"A sister, mary arty" Nice one, WR ;)
I'm liking Mary Arty :-) Pretty cool that...
You should put a moriatorium on speculation - it'll make you go blind.....
I appreciate this is likely fiction as it says, but a fun little read...

Maybe not.
blank rounds in the gun and a minor explosive squib in his hair and blood capsules in the mouth ...?

sherlock then put his own plan to jump into action - he did not attempt to save moriarty and would not have bothered to check he was really dead ...
Well at any rate if Moriarty's back we can be pretty sure he didn't put a bullet through his head!

Mind, I'd have thought that the body would have been found, a post mortem performed and the remains buried, so it's somewhat of a surprise to say that least! Evil(-ler) twin maybe? Or something along the lines of, for example, the Saw films, where someone new takes up the mantle left by Moriarty and uses his image to strike fear into the hearts of his enemies...

I like speculating, it's fun, although I'm pretty sure that most of the above (short of the bullet thing) will turn out to be utterly wrong.

Goodness , get a grip Cumerbach is such a wooden top Jeremy Brett was much better as Sherlock
Was there ever any explicit mention that Sherlock Holmes had only the one brother?
It's a long time since I read the books, and whilst I'm sure none of them stated categorically that Sherlock had only one brother, they didn't mention another. I've checked my encyclopaedia of 'Sherlockiana' and can find nothing to support the idea. As someone else said, I think we're in for a bit of poetic license with this programme - and that's fine by me. I think it's brilliant.
Yes, that pretty much covers things as I remembered it. The most likely scenario is that if there are more Holmes siblings, he just never mentioned them.
I did think last night before reading this that Mr Moffat's hand is evident and there is a certain and growing similarity between Sherlock and Dr Who. I am sure that that TV's and screens everywhere showing the same thing thing has been used on Dr Who, or if not, something very similar. I don't mind exactly, I really like Dr Who, but just like I want different flavours in my icecream, I want different flavours in my TV.
I wonder if Mary Watson could be a sister or maybe that new bloke Wiggins..I'll have to watch it again.
Just for you, Woofgang - A fan-made Dr.Who - Sherlock mash-up :)
