Just how unlike real life is Corrie!

You wake up with suspected flu, call the doc, and within an hour, there he is at your door. If only!

And The Rovers must have some sort of illegal sideline. How many bars are there like that now?
I turn it on now and then. It is so badly acted I have to turn it off. Crap TV.
Is gales son older than her?
It's like that programme, Doctors. They say things like: "Mrs So and So hasn't been in for a few weeks. I'll call round and see if she's ok". My 4rse. But it is only a programme. No. Not reality at all.
Totally unrealistic, but would people watch it if it was true to life, I think not!
totally, no one really works, no one has a life partner, they change them like they do their socks. No one actually eats a meal, at least without a ruckus, many drink and drive. More murders, rapes, crime in these few streets that would rather be better suited to CSI. Fights galore, especially amongst the women, not seen that since i was a nipper. Then of course there is the wine bar, a more horrible place you couldn't wish to find.
All the characters have major flaws, not one is really pleasant, and as
to having the doctor turn up after only an hour, pigs would fly before that happened.
it's why we watch it..... x
If you want real life, that's what the reality shows are for.
Corrie is not real life and it doesn't really reflect real life.
This is why it's called a soap drama!
Remember that time in Coronation St when Gails' car crashed into the canal with them all inside? The next time you saw them all they were eating fish and chips in Roys' cafe! Brilliant! Maybe they caught the fish in the canal.
10clarion, i bet they did, would it have been cod, as in what a load of cod's
Yes and if you're Lloyd you can set up a taxi business, get all female drivers, advertise, get signs made for the cabs and steal Steve's contracts all in the space of two to three days!
If these TV soaps were exactly like real life, nobody would watch - Oh look, Roy's going down to Batleys cash & carry for some tomato sauce!
And you don't start til 7.30in the evening
Kathy how long do you think it would take for Lloyd to set up a business, hire staff etc?
It's theatre, smile and scowl, comedy and pathos, you laugh, you cry, theartrical drama on a television scale.Without the key elements,laugh/cry you have not stop tedium ie.Eastenders
Kathyann....Lloyd did not set up a business, he bought a going concern.
weecalf, Helen Worth, who plays Gail (she's not high wind) is 61.
Ben Price, who plays Nick, is 40.

Gail looks fantastic for her age
a soap pregnancy lasts 6 months as the production team don't think viewers attention span can cope with 9 months
I don't want soaps to be realistic. I couldn't stand watching everyone watching tv every evening
Gail is old enough to be Nick's Mum, but Audrey isn't old enough to be Gail's mum. Sue Nicholls is only 7yrs older than Helen Worth.
