Sean Connery is top of my list - how on earth do you play an Irish cop with a Scots accent and get an OSCAR for it!!!!!!!!!!!

Having watched Starship Troopers which is a wonderful allegory for American foreign policy, even more relavent than when it came out - I find Denise Richards to be utterly without acting ability. her default expression seems set to 'gormless' and filling a uniform nicely can only get you so far in a film.

Didn't do Marilyn Monroe much harm! I'm not defending Denise Richards btw!
Daniel Ratcliffe should be shot

Clint Walker was very wooden
not true john wayne was a far better actor than given credit. Watch the film The Searchers, it's a masterpiece with a very gritty performance from John Wayne
besides it all a matter of taste, what you don't like another might
For me it was Humphrey Bogart!
Humphrey Bogart was a legend, Casablanca a gem of a film.
Keanu Reeves is atrocious.
Nicholas Cage, Keanu Reeves, Jim Carrey, Adam Sandler, Will Ferrell, all hopelessly bad,
i think most actors from the past - ie, pre 1960 or so...were pretty awful... they had a very strange unnatural way of acting...from posture, movements, intonation, expression etc... all very affected

it was all still pretty new then though, film acting, so they didnt have the training, or the peers or thousands of other actors to learn from.

i often dislike older films for this reason...
Maybe not up there with the "big boys" but I detest Robson Green - his voice never alters no matter what he's in...... boring!
Ladies and gentlemen - We can see by the names that again we have huge diversity. I for one would defend Michael Caine as he is probably my favorite actor.

But I give you Marc Singer - "star" of the original V. He makes a plank wood lok like Orson Wells.

It was the kissing in some of those films, not normal
I agree with Joko completely. Most of the old school actors looked like they were 'acting'. Most of it over exaggerated. Actors today are generally much more natural and convincing.

Not saying the actors themselves were bad, but the methods, direction and production was very inferior to what is expected today. I love some of the old films, but not because of the wonderful actors.
I find brad pitt and angelina jolie overrated, though I know you dont like films from the past joko, but I love those old british movies and I think margaret rutherford is a good actress!
joko pre 1960, so no good actor before then, blimey. Film has been around a lot longer than you seem to think.
em10 - i said 'most' ... if you would care to read properly

i make films for a living, have done for around 15 years, and have a degree and various other qualifications in film and tv, so in terms of who knows more about film, me or you, i'd put money on me...
I thought Pinocchio was a bit wooden.
^^ L O L

If people who work in film and tv knew all they should about the subject - then it's surprising how much of the output is cr@p
