Do you think we should have a Death Row in this country like they have in some states in America?
People who are found guilty of violent crimes such as terrorists and those found guilty of knife and gun crimes who can languish for sometimes years before it's decided if they should be executed.

Although to answer the question, I think (now) that there are some exceptional cases, where execution is the only reasonable way forward.

Well no because we don't have the death penalty. My assumption was that those in the states for example had already been sentenced to death - they just wait to see when and if it's going to be carried out.

No. I'd prefer we were civilised. A life term will suffice.

Prison - Shaved and shorn. Red suits provided. Fed pork slop. Camped in Nissan huts surrounded by lots of barbed wire.
No mail, no telephones, security guaranteed. Armed guards patrolling.
Regular roll calls.
A Cooler for misdemeanours.
Alive, but what a life.
Regular publicity to show what happens if you commit murder.

The return of the death penalty was last debated in Parliament in 1998 - and rejected then. I think it would still be rejected today.

Back in 1998 we didnt have three seperate murders in the metropolis within 12 hours and one or two every day almost. Times have changed since then obviously for the worse.

As I have just said on the other thread, we will not see the return of the Death Penalty in this Country in out lifetime and maybe never - but who knows really?

Theland, why not just chain them to a wall in underground dungeons. No need for the expense of employing armed guards. Feed them intravenously and wash them down once a week with a hose. Then, when they die, just stick them in the pig-pen.
