wrong catagory I know but chatterbank gets more traffic.

Me and a couple of friends are planning a couple of days in London

Q1, have heard that London transport is now cashless and you have to purchase an oyster card. Is this true and if so how much is a days oyster card and is it useable on both tube and bus?

Q2, Can anyone recommend a hotel or b&b? 3 single bed room, dont fancy sharing a bed with one of my hairy ar$ed mates...

Q3, Travelling from stoke on trent. What would be the cheapest train fare? Not bothered about times etc, just want a cheap ticket.

Thanks.

What than London?
Mick, behave! Nailit, hopefully Chris will be along to help.
Yes, London buses are cashless. You can pay with an Oyster or a contactless debit card. I would go for Oyster

Right oh, will leave it to Chris then!

;-)
You could contact Boris and he may be able to give you your info.....Talbs, your wrist has been wrapped there!

Baldric, I was just thinking rail travel!
You can go on the trainline (or Buenchico might say the national rail website) and if you book ahead on an off peak train at a set time you can get cheap tickets for maybe £12 each way
Nailit, I apologise for derailing your post.
Why do people how have no knowledge of transport in London feel the need to answer? If you have nothing constructive to say, then don`t bother.
This isn't just about transport though is it?

And it is in chatterbank.
Does it matter? Someone wants an answer to a question
We stayed at the President booked through Travel Republic. Book 12 weeks in advance to get the cheapest tickest
Well that is your second unhelpful post, sj (still it is chatterbank)
I rarely come on chatterbank but had noticed it includes this comment from the Ed
" Welcome To ChatterBank the home of natter and nonsense on The AnswerBank. You could ask serious questions here, but don't expect serious answers!"
Evening, Nailit......you'll enjoy a couple of days away......any particular reason or just seeing the sights and a bit of fun?...x
True FF.
That doesn't mean everyone is obliged to pounce on that particular clause when it's obvious it's a genuine question.
Sadly I don't live in London so I can't help but I wish I could
nailit will get his answers and a bit of banter too. If I have got nailit right he will welcome that.
Also true Talbot
Talbot - thank you for telling my that I have two unhelpful posts. Can you remind me of them again? Just in case I forgot because I have a life
