I was three minutes late for the deadline because my PC buffered for a short while and when I submitted my form it said, "Application status: Deadline passed".

So, can they still short list me/see my application, is really what I'm asking.

It seems like they probably received your application, have you had email confirmation? They will look at it if they want to it all depends on the company and how much competition. Probably depends on how many applied and how anal they want to be.

You can ask but they may wonder why your application was so last minute, if perhaps you have trouble with time management and would they want an employee who leaves such an important piece to the last minute.

I'm sure they can do as they wish. But submission over the Net, their software may not keep or accept late uploads. So they may not even know.

A missed bus is a bus missed.

Wait for the next one.

I mind on reading about a student's work being rejected even though it had been submitted half an hour before the midnight deadline.

The reason given was he shouldn't have left it so late.

Were you really interested in this job or was this just another one of your pointless applications where you were not actually going to go for an interview or accept even if offered?  I would not accept an application from someone who couldn't even get their application in on time.

Redhelen/Lankeela - OP was asking us a practical question rather than judgement of her character. Some jobs are only seen by people at the last minute lol

yes they can

but this one seems to have locked you out

depends if the others are good or not

Gosh thank you Bluefortress , I never knew that having never held down a job myself!

Treacle71, I'm sure some employers can look at late application forms, but we here have no idea if the place you've applied to is one of them! Some firms have definite cut-off points, others don't... but at least you'll know now to apply more timeously in the future.

bluefortress perhaps look at some of Treacle's previous posts and you will understand my doubting her sincerity.

Red, that's cool, if you know that advertisements can often be noticed last minute by people that further emphasises my point

Bluefortress - and most applications will have a closing time of midnight - so highly unlikely to be stumbled across  further emphasises my point

Hello? HELLO?

I seem to have a dead line.

Thank you guys and thanks to you, bluefortress.  Seems I was sent a last minute job alert, but never mind.  Perhaps it just wasn't to be xx
