I really dislike any cold callers and refuse to contribute to any charities by way of doorstep donations, or respond favourably to people who get me to the door, when they could put a leaflet through the letterbox. In fact I am becoming very cynical about all charitable organisations and especially those who keep delivering large plastic bags for selected...

I must be doing something right - they have never been to my house. The God Squad calls about once a year. I must look poor. :-)
Are you sure they weren't collecting the envelopes? We had the envelopes delivered last Friday and they collected them on Wednesday.
No one knocks on my door.
Question Author
No envelope, a plastic money container.
I'd complain then, TWR.
They've always done that, haven't they? I remember them putting little envelopes through the door for you to fill with money for them to pick up later. My mum once said to them "Oh, sorry, I've lost the envelope. I can't give you anything." So of course they said "Here's another one." And waited while she was supposed to find some money.
I can't remember if she did or shut the door on them.

I'm not a tight rs I often when shopping give to Cancer Research / Air Ambulance but I think this is going too far now, I thought I'd settled the Phone calls PPI caper now you get these people.
I used to give to a few charities but stopped doing it. These days I give my money to Cats Protection and my time to Oxfam.

I do a lot for charity but I don't like to talk about it.
TWR.....they only come to the posh houses...how much did you give them?
Question Author
Bright, Believe me I'm not posh, never try to be, but I will put a stop to this, I do not think it's right for these people to go knocking on people's doors this time of the day, what about the little old ladies that are on their own? what I mean by that, they way things are out there nowadays the would be frightened to open the doors.
Jesus, another post from the ramblers association.
If they are frightened to open their doors to the Sally Army ...then they would would be frightened to open their doors to anyone.
Question Author
No not Jesus Doug but TWR
'Whoosh!!!!!'
How will you stop them?
Question Author
A phone call Bright, that will be done today.
Put a big picture of Anjem Choudary on the front door Sparks.(^_*)
Might be worth checking under your doormat/in your letter box for an envelope before you ring. Let us know what they say.
Yes we get them at like 8pm on a Friday night, they get short shrift. We never give to any charity knockers or chuggers except the poppy sellers.
