What are you struggling with?
Oh!!!
Nice of you to post that, Mamy: A positive answer to someone seeking help is, well,...helpful.
I suspect what others are hinting at is that a good teaching assistant has to be able to get children to develop their questions, so that they become more meaningful. e.g. if asked "Can you help me with my story please, Miss", a teaching assistant will need to ask "What do you want to write your story about?", "Who do you want to be in it?", "What are the people like?", etc, etc.

Your question, as it stands, is still at the "Can you help me with my story please, Miss" stage, rather than being properly developed by telling us exactly which parts of the form you need help with.

However, given that a large number of members of this site are (or have been) teachers, there should be plenty of help available if you ask a more carefully constructed question.
Thanks Chris

Nearly 11.30 pm. Maybe Lisa is just tired!!
In all my years I never had a teaching assistant. Could have done with one, not for educational reasons but it would have allowed me to sneak out for the odd crafty fag.
Yes I too understood the points others were making, just thought the link may have calmed any late night worries about form filling.

Thanks Stuey.
JD, I taught for a few years also. If I wanted a smoke, I'd just nip down to the Teachers' Lounge and have one...We were allowed to smoke there eons ago:)
Yes Stuey, but those were the days when you could leave the classroom without fear of coming back to havoc and destruction.
That could be true; I imagine the average classroom clientele is quite (not quiet) different now. We actually "created" our own teaching assistants by "using" the more gifted students.
Which particular question or sections do you feel you need help with, Lisa?
Please post the qns you need help with, Lisa.
why are we waiting, oh why are we waiting?? yes just a tad impatient
Question Author
i need to write in detail about my experience and knowledge i have today that can help me in the primary school job, as ive worked both in a nursery and school setting before
There's a section on including experience on the link I gave. Give as much detail as you can, the ages of the children and the sort of activities you did with them.
In your own words, write about your experience. Its hard for us to help because you have all the knowledge and the information needed. Try bullet points to break it up a bit. Write dates and school names, describe what you did when you worked or helped in each of those situations. Then conclude with a general paragraph describing the skills you gained and how they will help you in the classroom.
Don't be afraid to 'sell' yourself. Write about how you related to pupils and how much you enjoyed making a difference. List your qualities e.g patience, sensitivity, confidentiality etc. If you really show how interested you are ,your sincerity will shine through. Good luck.
