My sister is very good Robinia re these matters and just recently she said that the government will NOT leave anybody without money. You can ask for a "crisis" loan or emergency one - you should be able to go to where you get your money and they should issue you there and then with a cheque. Hope I have given you true information.

I haven't heard the term 'dole' for a while.
Have you been given a reason?
Do you 'sign on' each week or fortnight? You could ask then to save making a phone call
Is there a reason?
Which benefit is it?
If it's a new claim it for contribution based JSA it can take a while- I once had to wait over 6 weeks- while they await details from HMRC/DWP or whoever about NI contributions

Me and my partner had open a joint account since then I have not had any money from them
Which suggests they may not have sent it to the right account, did you tell them?

Just reading of your joint account. You need to contact them right away as probably your personal circumstances are lying around somewhere.

I worked in Civil Service for many years and did witness dreadful lapses of bad management etc. Go immediately if you live not too far away.

Unfortunately phoning in these cases will not get you good results.
Have you advised them of new account?
On hindsight Robin (think I called you Robinia) sorry - never ever change ie from single to joint account cos "Dole" can't cope even with the smallest query.

Some years ago a friend of mine had been waiting a year for monies to be paid to her and backpaid at that. I followed her query in the building I was in and was told it was here and there. I ended up going to at least 3 other buildings where I finally was told it would be seen to. She got her money about a week later.

Robin ~ nobody can give you an accurate answer as we don't have all the information. What did they say when you phoned them to ask about your payment?

Is this your first payment of benefit or have you been getting it for a while?

You could always visit your local jobcentre and ask what has happened.

It may be that you have done something that has caused your benefit to stop. Do they know that you have a partner? Does she have any income?

Ask them
Look I am not being rude or anything like that...But why you waiting for DOLE money?? For the time you been waiting you could of found youself a job,
//Look I am not being rude or anything like that//

Yes you are....you know nothing about Robin's circumstances.
//Look I am not being rude or anything like that//

Except you are.

snap ummmm
UMMMM & CHELLE7272.....Circumstances????? No job you get DOLE money end of...Benefits are a different matter...
People refer to all benefits as dole sometimes.
I think we all need more details from Robin before knowing the solution - in the main JSA claimants have to attend the Job Centre on a regular basis, so perhaps the word 'Dole' has been used incorrectly here.

No need to be nasty to anyone.
You're so out of touch slocjo - I know of people who have taken months to find a job, and NOT through lack of trying.
slocjo

Doesn't change the fact you were rude.

And if you are picking on the word used...well, it's could have not could of...
point taken...Sorry to all....
