Hello.

I might be able to get some design work at home to do 'cut outs' of people, animals etc using Photoshop.

Would anyone out there know what sort of rate per 'cut out' I should be paid please?

I am a freelance graphic designer. Before quoting either an hourly rate or an all in one 'job' price I would want to know how many cut outs were required, the complexity of the cut outs and what the deadline was...

...and whether they'd be willing to pay cash ;-p

I would work out based on an hourly rate.. rather than per cut out - as the complexity of the image can vary HUGELY.
A freelance designer would charge about £20-£25 per hour if that helps

are you skilled? or this just something you are havign a go at ?

because if you are just an amateur having a go, you cant really charge by the hour at 'going rates', because it may take you a lot longer to do than pro...

people wont want to pay you 3 times the price to do someting 3 times as long when they could hire a pro to do it quicker and cheaper...

Yes! I am skilled but I have always been employed by a company., therefore I had a straight salary.

At present I am unemployed and they may be able to chuck some work my way to help out!
ah i see, well then id go with what the others have said.

only you know if you are a slow worker.

i do a lot of stuff in photoshop and am very skilled at it - i just take my time though, very thorough, so id be stuck if i charged by the hour

i try to work out how long it 'should' take ... i dont do a lot of commissions though, its more in with my job, or for favours, or take what they offer for the finished work etc.
