Dimmer Lights Problem

Just fitted new ceiling light complete with 3 dimmer bulbs. There was a dimmer switch already in situ. When the lights are switched on the bulbs flash on and off. Baffled

No. switches work with both types of bulb :o)

If you are using LED lights you need special dimmable bulbs. It could also be the switch and that might have to be changed to a trailing edge switch.
An older style dimmer switch is unlikely to work with LED lamps, even those labelled "dimmable".
Also... LEDs use very little current, often not enough to make an older type dimmer switch (incandescent bulbs) work properly.

You need to check the MINIMUM load that the dimmer switch needs.
.......... of course you might have a dodgy connection ;o)

If I just changed the switch to a normal would I need to change the bulbs as well
