Replacing Ball Valve In Header Tank Part 2!

My adjustable spanner wasn't big enough to bit the brass nut on the ball valve.

It must be around the 35mm mark. These are the 2 nuts either side of the tank that clamp the ball valve in place.

Does anyone know what spanner fits this?

Boolders... I'm sorry I missed your part 1 I'm afraid. Anyway, Central Heating header tanks are fed from the mains. If no other stopcock, then turn off at the mains. thanks mr.builder will see if I can get my hands on one of those products! My adjustable spanner was slightly too small.

as a side note; what is the purpose of the header tank?
