I'd probably screw down 3mm ply first. Y
Technically Altro isn't Lino (which is short for linoleum) as Lino is made from natural products and Altro is plastics based. It is contract quality so should last a while!
I work for a flooring company and find that any ply less than 6mm tends to expand when adhesive is put on it. also 6mm is better for levelling, though the thicker you go the better the levels will be, and therefore a better finished job. Like all work, the prep is vital to get a good finish. The Altro need to be fully adhered to the ply and isn't usually a DIY job as the room needs a template of the shape taken and then cut out on a flat area, before transferring back to the room.
I certainly agree with Guernseyman, 6mm marine grade ply to start with! Altro walkway is fine to use in bathrooms not subjected to direct running water and will perform at its best given a professional installation. If your bathroom area is level access shower or is a 'wet room' may I suggest you look at the Altro Aquarius instead? It is our new product designed to keep you safe in shoes and bare feet, wet or dry conditions. Please do not hesitate to contact me for samples - happy to help. Tel : 01462 489516

Hi I certianly would agree with Guernseyman, 6mm marine grade ply is the place to start. Altro Walkway is fine for dry bathroom conditions where it does not come into direct contact with running water ( eg lining a shower tray) and it will perform extermely well given a professional installation. If your bathroom has a level access shower or is indeed a 'wet room' may I suggest you look at Altro Auarius instead?
