IF you were offered the chance to go back in time.

I'd like to be a fly on the wall in Hitler's underground bunker in Berlin in those last 8 days or so of World War II. I can't help feeling it would be very revealing.

I'd like to be able to go back and ask my Great Grandfather what his real name was and who his parents were. I'm trying to trace my family history and have come a little unstuck with this ancestor as he did a bit of identity theft and used the name of a child who died aged 6 hours old. I keep thinking of Edward Fox in Day of the Jackal when he takes the name of a child of a gravestone.

Or - if you're thinking of a moment in history that we all know about - I'd be stood on the grassy knoll in Dallas on 22nd November 1963, just to see if there was another gunman there.

I'd quite like to see when the first actual human was born - probably just so I could strangle him lol.

I'd like to see the "birth" of the first biological life form from the "chemical soup" - need a good microscope and air supply and probably some asbestos underwear

Too much to choose from. But only to witness, not to live...no time like the here and now.

I'd like to witness the titanic sinking. I feel sad for all the souls that went down with her but it must have been an awesome sight and maybe I could hear the music that the band was playing!!

I would want to witness Abe Lincolns Gettysburgh address just to hear and see the heartfelt plea from the man. And I've got to reply to spudqueen's posting about the grassy knoll. If there's any person still thinking that Oswald acted alone then they must think that people are as stupid as the CIA and FBI and the Whitehouse thought people where back in 1963 !!!! How can you get hit in the throat by a bullet fired from behind and two storeys up from ????

No Jenny its a facinating concept.

stick28 The Kennedy issue made Oswald the convenient guilty party owing to the fact he had a Russian wife, which stacked the popular guilty opinion against him.
remember the Cuban missile crisis! was only a recent issue.
As you state the US authorities took everybody for a mug & some beleived the theory of the magic bullet.

You would also have to question why & how Ruby was able to shoot Oswald, live on TV.

A stunt by the authorities in an effort to sooth a mourning country. Its would not be beyond them.

Its an interesting issue the 22/11/63
