Is there somwhere online where I can view my parents' wedding certificate?

I don't want to sign up for free trials of anything, neither do I need a copy. I just want to view it, to check the date.

The last time I checked the NRO were charging £9.25 which is, in my opinion, quite reasonable.
Question Author
I agree that £9.25 is very reasonable. I was just hoping I could have a peek at it somewhere, just to verify the date. I don't actually need a copy.
hope you are getting somewhere ?

I haven't done anymore, today, Minty. I have been too busy. Tomorrow is an important day for me. Got to get my lamp lit.
Try signing up for Ancestry.co.uk - they often offer a month's free trial and you might find the information you want
Question Author
Don't they try to catch you out with those free trails, Hc?
Most public libraries have subscriptions to Ancestry and many more sites that you can use free if you are a member of the library. My library is always full of people on the computers looking for their family history. The staff give free tutorials on the best way to look for your family tree and use other sites. ( they also have 'The Law Pages' so you can look up court hearings)
Question Author
Thank you. I might try the library next week.
Tilly, I always cancel the free trial the same day or next day - I still get the free month.
Question Author
Is it that easy? No tricks?
Very easy. No tricks
Tilly ..get an early night and try some sleep ...xx
Tilly, Ancestry.com will only give you the Quarter of the year that the marriage was registered, together with the name of the Spouse, District, Volume and Page Number. To ascertain the actual date, you will have to see a copy of the certificate or church/civil registers.
Question Author
Thank you, Twix. I now have contact information for Stoke on Trent registration service so will be contacting them next week.

Thanks for all your help everyone.

I received a copy of my parent's wedding certificate today.

Thank you all so much for your help with this. x

^parents'

Honestly!
no shocks on it, I hope.
Question Author
No, Jno. No shocks.

Nothing I didn't know, anyway. ;-)
that's good, although finding unexpected things on certificates is often interesting.
Question Author
The only odd thing was, it was witnessed by an uncle rather than my paternal grandfather. My maternal grandfather was the other witness.

Odd that, as I know my Dad's mum and dad did attend the wedding.
