I did say specify!
My understanding of a cheese scone is one baked with cheese in the mixture. Here one gets a plain scone with a meagre sprinkling of cheese on the top.
Will bake my own when I have replaced my 5 year out of date bag of flour.

Ginge has it right here. It might have some extra cheese on the top but as long as it was a plain scone, with cheese in the mixture, I would be altogether happy.
