Did anyone watch this last night? I'm not a lover of Agatha Christie's work, but as it had the lovely Aiden Turner in it I tuned in. I'm so glad I did, it was excellent. Intriguing storyline, great cast, and beautiful scenery to boot. Can't wait for the second part tonight

Yes we watched. Great production. We are watching later, but have set record in case the Prosecco wins. Costume department deserves a mention.

Beautifully made, and much closer to the book than any of the films.
Yes, I agree...buy whoever changed the original title, should have used the correct English...."And Then There Was None"....
I found it quite by accident and was very glad I did. I enjoyed it very much.
'and then there were none' is correct English isn't it? I thought none could be singular or plural depending on the original amount.
Well, "none" is short for "not one"....so it's definitely singular in my book!
None can be single or plural - and has had this capability for over a thousand years. Various grammar books/websites discuss the myth, that it can only be single. It's quite interesting to read.
depends which grammar book you read.
Neveracrossword. yes I thought I was right -English is not my first language and one tends to get taught more grammar as such lol! You are right -its interesting reading.
I'm not a total pedant about language, but I get a little annoyed when I hear some 'rules' that aren't!
Well, "none" was singular when I did O-level English and singular it will remain (to me, at least!).
English not your first language? Only in this name!!
Ummmm give it a rest it gets boring after a while.

I never expected my question to turn into a debate about grammar!
Sorry Lynda...that was my fault...won't do it again! And, yes, it was excellent.
...and, I'm so glad I didn't bring the title of AC's book into the argument!
Aiden Turner does scrub up well
Thank You LB.

You're welcome Togo - and apology accepted ginge ;)
I read that it was faithful to the book. Unlike previous versions on film and telly which have changed the ending
