Mrs O , the French always prefer vegetables to flowers in their gardens. Never understood why, for example, in this village there was a clamour for allotments when those doing the clamouring were already possessed of adequate gardens and could easily grow vegetables (and fruit too) there. Your back gardens are to be the victims of fashion, methinks. Or everyone is becoming French !
