Catering mint sauce

I love the mint sauce and chinese style sauces that you get on lamb chops and ribs from butchers.

I believe they get it in catering sized buckets as a powder and mix it with water.

anyone know where i could get it from...i had a brief look on ebay but not really sure what im looking for

Ta muchly

You could ask your butcher where he gets it from.
You might be able to get in from a cash&carry.
Alternatively, you could make your own mint sauce. Personally, I wouldn't buy a powder mix. You don't know what's in it.
He will if he buys it Tilly.
Yes, probably lots of E numbers and MSG. Yuck!

The butcher won't reveal his sauce...sorry scource !!! It's not like the "normal" mint sauce we get but more light brown in colour.
won't reveal his source
There you are then. He doesn't want you to know what's in it. Brown mint sauce?

Thank you rockyracoon...that's exactly what i was looking for. Ironically, ive just come back from tesco with two of those "flava it" marinades and didn't think to investigate further.

Thanks again.
Ready made marinades are revolting. Please make your own with fresh herbs etc.
Mint is not the most difficult herb to obtain or even grow and it comes in many different varieties. Mint sauce is not much more difficult to make than adding water to brown powder.,
