the sort that might help someone else, perhaps it is covered in another category, if so sorry. I wasn't sure what category to put this question in.

but if people post random tips onto one thread it would be quite difficult to find them in the future, not to mention when the threads start moving down and onto page 2

Although, you may mean a place to add tips without someone asking a question about them? General unsolicited tips?

If a chilli is too hot add sour cream.... if a curry is too hot add yoghurt... was that the sort of thing you meant...

If your meringue mix splits add a small amount of cornflour and a little cream of tartar then go buy meringues at the supermarket instead
if your stew's to salty add potato's
That's a great suggestion em10.I just love reading handy tips. The problem is though, I often forget about them when they could come in useful LOL. My handy tip is to rub liquid soap/detergent onto a bathroom mirror to stop it steaming up. The good thing is ithis realy works.

well some here just want to take the p**s, i was trying to being helpful.

for example if you can't open a food type jar, the ones with a metal lid, get a wooden spoon, and tap the side of the lid, twice if necessary to make slight indent, and it will open, lets say i have yet to see it fail.
But is it just food related handy hints?

If your clothes slide off hangers, like irritating strappy t shirts, girls thats for you, well mostly! put elastic bands around the ends of the hangers, it stops them slipping off the end.
